Rachel and Garet’s journey is one of shared passion and aligned paths. Growing up in Southern California, their lives often overlapped—they attended the same college, moved within similar circles, and even crossed paths at the climbing gear shop where Rachel worked. Yet, it wasn’t until both moved to Yosemite National Park that their connection truly flourished, forming the foundation of their partnership in life and guiding.
For over four years, they’ve called Yosemite home, immersing themselves in its breathtaking landscapes and developing a shared love for the wilderness. Together, they’ve created unforgettable experiences for their guests, blending expertise and a genuine passion for the outdoors.
Rachel’s award as REI’s 2023 Guide of the Year reflects her dedication to guiding and outdoor education, while Garet’s experience includes working with notable adventurers like Dierdre Wolonick-Honnold (Alex Honnold’s mother) and Hollywood actor Jared Leto. Their combined passion ensures every trip is safe, knowledgable, and deeply personal.
